Job Information

Main function: To protect the personnel, visitors, and premises while responding and acting accordingly to a wider range of situations not limited to: crime, fire, or medical emergencies.

Reports to: HSES Manager


  • Observe and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, customers, etc.
  • Monitor activity on company security cameras as it relates to safety/security.
  • Ensure all visitors and customers are given the initial training concerning HSES requirements, and are aware of and understand the requirements.
  • Issue appropriate badging to visitors and customers  and ensure they are escorted, as required, by their Optima sponsor.
  • Conduct new hire orientation.
  • Perform scheduled and random checks of designated areas throughout the facility for security breaches.
  • Screen and announce deliveries of chemicals and other goods, and direct delivery personnel to the proper locations.
  • Manage all drug screenings and conduct background check activities to ensure compliance with company requirements.
  • Sign manifests for non-hazardous waste shipments.
  • Work closely with the Shipping & Receiving Department on all incoming and outgoing shipments.

Qualifications:  Must have a minimum of an Associate’s Degree or Certification from a technical school. Emphasis in the area of Criminal Justice and/or professional law enforcement experience, is desirable. Individual must possess strong communication and decision making skills. At least 2 years of related experience is preferred.
