- Connects and disconnects tank wagon and tank cars
- Samples product prior to shipment
- Lines up the raw materials to each reactor
- Responds to area emergencies
- Starts up and shutdown the process
- Reviews Operating Procedures and makes changes as needed
- Operators (opens and closes) manual valves as needed
- Performs computer work (MyInfo, SAP, etc)
- Tags, Locks, and Try equipment for maintenance work
- Performs basic mechanical skills
- Operates the DCS to safely run the process
- Troubleshoots process upsets
- Monitors equipment in the process for upsets
- Tests breathing air equipment after delivery
- Operators fork truck
- Performs gas checks

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally with assistance lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Must be able to routinely climb stairs and wear full coverage with SCBA.

Qualified operators will assist in the training of other process operators and in the training of personnel coming into the area.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – Valid Drivers License. Should be capable of obtaining special certifications as needed.
