Optima Chemical Group Receives National Performance Improvement Honor

DOUGLAS, GA – Optima Chemical Group is pleased to announce it has been recognized for outstanding efforts in improving environmental, health, safety and security (EHS&S) by the Society of Chemical Manufacturers & Affiliates (SOCMA), the leading trade association representing specialty chemical manufacturers.

Optima Chemical Group participates in SOCMA’s ChemStewards® program, which encourages companies to operate their facilities in an environment that promotes safety and environmental compliance to all stakeholders.

Optima Chemical Group accepted the Silver Performance Improvement Award at SOCMA’s 97th Annual Dinner & Meeting on December 10 in New York City.Company President, Gene Williams, accepted the award on behalf of the company at the awards dinner.

The Performance Improvement Awards judges recognized Optima Chemical’s robust employee training program that involves operators throughout the risk assessment process. The company also implemented SOCMA’s 40-hour online training program by partnering with a local community college. Optima installed a new computer lab onsite that all employees use specifically for this training. And, all operators have successfully completed and passed section tests for the program.
